The Dutch headoffice of Syngenta Seeds is located in Enkhuizen.
Here, approximately 550 employees are working on the
development, production and sales of high quality vegetable and
flowers seeds, cuttings and young plants.
In De Lier (close to The Hague) two neighbouring Syngenta Seed
departments are present. Young Plant Production – more than 100
employees – produces and distributes young plants. In the
Research & Development department approximately 25 employees are
carrying out research in breeding of tomato and pepper. For this
Department we are searching for an enthousiastic Pepper Breeder.
Job Description
- Maintain the portfolio of
Product Development in line with market demands
- Identifying new
opportunities in the market
- Planning and
implementation of existing projects and initiating new
product development projects.
- Securing efficient
facility project support
- Organizing prototype tests
in the market
- Supporting the transition
of new developed products to the production and marketing
departments
- Exploring new technologies
/scouting of germplasm
- Implementing of new
technologies in breeding programs
- Assisting in the
development of the IP-position
- Maintaining close contacts
with the operational departments (a.o. greenhouse staff,
etc.)
Job requirements
For this many-sided job, we
are looking for a candidate with a completed university
education in plant breeding or related fields. You know how
to implement new products/processes in a commercial job
setting. You have knowledge of phytopathology, cultivation
technology and you are innovative. You possess good
communication skills, both in an academic and in a
commercial setting. You speak the English language and
preferably the Dutch language, or at least are willing to
learn this last language. As In view of the international
character of this job, you do not consider travelling a
problem. You can operate well both independently as well in
a team.
