POSITION:  Global Product Manager - Leafy Vegetables

Job location: St. Louis, Missouri

Monsanto, an Ag industry leader creating scientific breakthroughs around the world, is seeking highly motivated GLOBAL PRODUCT MANAGER (Leafy Vegetables) who will manage the global leafy vegetables seed business of Seminis, a branch of Monsanto.

In this role the candidate will develop and implement a rolling five year comprehensive global leafy vegetables business strategy designed to increase market share and value return and create and implement action plan to achieve objectives and drive completion. The Global Product Manager will lead the Global Crop team for leafy vegetables, oversee the annual long range planning process, and track key financial crop metrics on a monthly basis as well as annual budgets.

Additionally the candidate will provide strategic and tactical support to regional product managers (RPM's) and crop teams in the Americas, EMEA and Asia, provide global product planning coordination (Life Cycle Management) for assigned crop(s) across brands and regions, and manage product life cycle, regional product management leads and marketing and sales. Will serve as the primary contact with supply management to coordinate development of annual crop plans, production priorities, cost of goods management, seed quality direction and obsolescence control. In this role the candidate will also coordinate product availability with customer service, develop/maintain spreadsheets with product pricing which enables the financial support staff and will supervise the crop product planning process.

The successful candidate will posses a B.S. in agriculture, agronomy, business, marketing or related field and 7-10 years experience in sales/marketing/agronomy/product management or related field. Solid commercial product knowledge and a strong understanding of product development and supply management processes is required. The ability to work collaboratively and achieve business results across multi-disciplinary teams and matrix organization and excellent communication within a diverse organization is essential. Some domestic and international travel is required.
