For our worldwide head cabbage breeding programme at our location in Marne (Germany) we have a vacancy for the position of Breeder/Head Selector.

With nearly 1,300 employees and 21 locations, Rijk Zwaan is one of the biggest European companies in the breeding of vegetables and trading seeds worldwide. Our target groups are nurseries, conventional and organic vegetable growers, the vegetable industry and trade, food retailers and vegetable consumers.

Creativity and international orientation

As a breeder you will be part of the breeding team for head cabbage and responsible for breeding and developing new varieties. Thus you will be primarily situated at our breeding station in Marne, Schleswig-Holstein (Germany). However, you will regularly visit our various cabbage breeding and trial stations in Spain, Hungary, Poland, Turkey etc., encourage the good cooperation within Rijk Zwaan Marne and people involved in cabbage breeding elsewhere at Rijk Zwaan.

A sense of commercial opportunities

You are experienced in practical plant breeding and are a creative breeder with an innovative and practical attitude who knows how to commercialise and organise your work. Experience in the breeding of hybrids and the latest breeding methods (marker technology, dihaploids) is desirable.
You are able to work in a team and possess good communication skills. Your international involvement requires a very good command of English both spoken and written.
