Rijk Zwaan is one of
the biggest European companies in the breeding of vegetables
and trading seeds worldwide. Our target groups are
nurseries, conventional and organic vegetable growers, the
vegetable industry and trade, food retailers and vegetable
consumers.
The Phytopathological Research
Group is responsible for the development of screening methods
for resistance to pests and diseases, disease diagnostics and
research and development in seed pathogens. Because of
continuous expansion of our research group the following vacancy
has arisen: Researcher, Phytopathology (m/f)
Independent and responsible
The
emphasis of this position is on independent research
concerning the development of resistance tests for downy
mildew, fungi and nematodes as well as fundamental research
into the background of these resistances. Interaction with
our plant breeders will be an important part of the post.
The researcher might also be required to assist in other
internal and external research projects.
Interest in horticulture
You have
a MSc in horticulture and phytopathology. Both a theoretical
and practical interest in phytopathology and nematology in
relation to horticulture will be necessary for this
position. The candidate will alternate research in the
glasshouse with research in the field, laboratory and office
and has a practical attitude.
Your communicative skills are well developed in both the
Dutch and English language.
You have an original and accurate mind.
You can work well both individually and as part of a team.
A clean driving licence would be an advantage.
