Our Hybrid Seed Production department located in Bergschenhoek, the Netherlands has a vacancy for a:

Crop Specialist / Researcher

38 hours/week, Higher educational level

Are you interested in the cultivation & research of plants and do you have a higher educational level, then possibly you match with our company.

We are looking for a person with a keen eye for plant characteristics. Uniformity is outmost important to have our newly bred cultivars to succeed at market introduction. You will be responsible to check and describe parental lines. Subsequently you will make an assessment of the impact of found deviators.

Another major part of your activities will be to formulate hybrid seed production trials. You will arrange and supervise the research tasks to be carried out by the crop & pollination personnel. You will be responsible to measure, report en interpret data. In this, you will cooperate closely with our Seed Technology department.

Furthermore you will be analysing the new productions and determine cultivation guidelines You have the abilities to weigh and determine the proper cultivation methods and climate settings.

For this position we require horticultural knowledge gained through working experience and education (higher educational level). You have strong affinity with crop research. You have knowledge of plant morphology & genetics. In addition you understand plant processes and the role of light, CO2, fertilization, temperature and cultivation techniques.
