the development of varieties for local markets as well as the

The Seed Technology department conducts research in the field of
physiology, technology and pathology. To reinforce our research
team in Enkhuizen, we are now looking for a Researcher Seed
Physiology, full-time, with a university degree.
Job specifications
In this challenging function, you will, independently or in a
team of researchers, conduct research, mainly to develop seed
treatments for the improvement of germination and seedling
quality. You will be involved in implementing the protocols
developed within other departments. You will also be working
with the Researcher Seed Technology and Researcher Seed
Pathology in the field of (fundamental) physiological aspects of
seed production, pelleting, coating, sorting and disinfection.
You will keep yourself informed of all the latest developments,
you will identify points for improvement and you will propose
new research programmes. In this function, you will report to
the Manager Seed Technology.
Job requirements
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, creative colleague
with a relevant university education and with knowledge of plant
physiology and molecular biology. Specific knowledge of seed
physiology is a strong advantage. Moreover, you should possess
the ability to, after analysing a problem, finding satisfactory
solutions. A scrupulous and enterprising attitude and good
communication skills, both written and oral, are also attributes
that the candidate must possess.
