POSITION:
Plant
Pathology Research Assistant

Location:
Davis, California
The primary responsibilities for this position include,
but are not limited to:

Laboratory activities; media
preparation, maintenance and storage of plant pathogens,
performing biochemical analyses (ELISA,PCR), seed health
testing, ordering lab supplies; general lab upkeep and
maintenance.

Greenhouse activities;
assistance with test plantings, inoculations, and
evaluations along with plant upkeep and maintenance.

Field activities – scouting
for diseases, assist with all pathology related field trials
Qualifications:
-
BS degree in plant related
science is required.

Experience with plant
pathology, microbiology and molecular biology desirable
-
Spanish language skills
desirable
Skills required:
-
Detail oriented.
-
Strong oral and written
communication skills.
-
Familiarity with MS
Word/Excel/Access.
-
Willing to take initiative and
able to work independently.
-
Must be able to multitask,
with strong problem solving abilities.
-
Some travel required.
