This position would be located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
The pre breeder will be responsible to develop& establish
special trait(s) to support the main stream breeding through
developing:
a.
Methods and techniques to enhance Germplasm to improve
breeding efficiency.
b. Semi finished breeding lines and gene pools with specific
traits using different techniques,
....ready for use in breeding
programs.
c. Specific breeding populations for development of precise
markers or other molecular tools
d. Genetic knowledge to improve selection efficiency for
specific traits.
Applicant should possess a PhD in
plant breeding or genetics. Should have in depth working
knowledge of horticulture, agronomy, genetics, pathology,
statistics, physiology, molecular biology/genetics and cell
biology.
