POSITION:  Field Trial Associate, Texas/Louisiana

Location: Mississippi/Arkansas  rice growing region

Job Description

The Field Trial Associate will be a member of the Development team within the BASF Plant Science organization. This team performs critical activities necessary to advance BPS's plant breeding and biotechnology projects from idea to marketplace as fast and effectively as possible.

The Field Trial Associate will provide direct operational oversight for regulated rice field trial and seed increase program based in the U.S. Midsouth. This program supports the field testing needs of a high throughput rice trait pipeline. The Associate will work with a high degree of independence and be responsible for assuring that seed is handled and trials executed in full compliance with APHIS and Company guidelines governing GM and phytosanitary requirements for rice.

The position will be located in the Mississippi/Arkansas rice growing region.

Qualifications

Required:
M.S. Degree in Agronomy, Plant Breeding, or equivalent -OR- B.S. Degree +3 years experience. Demonstrated field trial experience in rice and the ability to work independently is required.
BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.

Desired:
Demonstrated experience working with USDA-regulated organisms in a field testing environment. Demonstrated experience in conducting research trials through cooperators.
