Job description

After a thorough training period you will be responsible for the USA segment of the Enza Zaden international onion breeding team, developing superior varieties for the worldwide onion market. Your plant breeding activities will be carried out in California and various other onion production areas within the USA & Mexico. You will work closely with the US breeding team and in the international environment within Enza Zaden.
Activities include planning, organizing and evaluating breeding and screening trials, working with novel breeding techniques, managing data, seed administration and personnel.

Job requirements

We expect candidates to have an advanced degree in plant breeding, genetics or suitable related scientific field.
Demonstrated applied experience in plant breeding, especially with onion is a strong advantage.
A practical attitude, creativity, planning, organization and management skills with a strong dose of perseverance are attributes that the right candidate should possess.
You must have a thorough command of English, spoken as well as written, and be willing to travel frequently within NAFTA and abroad.
