This job, located in The Netherlands, might be your new
challenge: MOLECULAR BREEDING LEAD – Salads
Location: Enkhuizen
Into action
You will
be responsible for leading the definition, design and
planning of molecular / trait breeding projects, within the
framework of agreed-upon strategies in salads (a.o. lettuce,
spinach). Managing these projects from initiation to
delivery of readily-usable breeding material or
trait-specific genetic information and ensuring proper
project advancement within allocated resources and timelines
will be your main goals.
The challenge
In this
environment you will work closely with relevant groups such
as genomics, bioinformatics, molecular genetics, genotyping
laboratories, physiology, pathology, and breeding.
You will co-ordinate the execution, report on project
progress / achievements and ensure appropriate technical and
business reviews as well as portfolio consolidation.
At the same time it will be your role to maintain awareness
of new developments and scientific advances through active
monitoring of internal and external activity and participate
in or lead the acquisition or development of new
technologies or methodologies as appropriate.
Securing intellectual property protection as appropriate and
maintaining awareness of intellectual property landscape and
evolutions are completing your role.
Your profile
For this
position we are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated
person with a Ph.D., or MSc. in plant breeding, genetics or
related field with 1 to 3 years of experience.
Knowledge of breeding theory, Mendelian genetics, molecular
markers, and genomics principles is critical. A good
understanding of principles in statistics, physiology
(including pathology), and biochemistry will also be
important.
You enjoy working with people and your excellent
organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are
essential to function as part of our lead cross-functional,
cross-cultural, multi-location teams.
Demonstrated project leadership and management experience is
critical.
Demonstrated technical or scientific successes in molecular
/ trait breeding are a plus.
