POSITION:  Phyto-Pathologist

The Rasi Seeds, a leading Bt cotton, cereals and oil Seed Company is expanding their vegetable seed business in India and Asia. Vegetable Division of Rasi seeds will locate their main R & D facilities at Bangalore, near Delhi and Kullu, Sales and marketing in all potential areas of vegetable growing, Operational centers in Bangalore and Gurgaon and Production locations throughout India based on crop need and agro-climatic zones. Vegetable division is being managed by experience seed professionals and will provide unique opportunities to experience professional from seed sector to enhance their professional and financial growth

Company invites the experienced and motivated professionals with ability to perform in a focused and challenging environment for following position.

Position: Phyto-pathologist (for all vegetable crops)

Location: Bangalore

Purpose

The selected candidate has to develop, conduct and optimize resistance tests in order to enable the breeders to develop varieties with the necessary resistances.

Responsibilities

• Supports and renders services to the breeding teams with their breeding programs.
• Gives Phytopathological input for the development of the breeding programs.
• Develops a clear Phytopathological vision on the breeding programs.

Educational Qualifications and experience

• M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Phyto-pathology particularly in vegetable crops
• Some working experience in the mentioned disciplines.
• Knowledge of breeding is an advantage.
• Good and open communicator, also in English.
• Practical orientation and the ability to steer a small team.
• Result oriented, cooperative and a good planner and organizer.
• Keeping track of planning and budget, able to keep overview and has a clear priority setting.
• Willing to travel.

Skills required

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be computer literate with knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Self-motivated, with a high level of time management and organizational skill.
• Must be willing to work outdoors even during inclement weather conditions.
