The Rasi Seeds, a leading Bt cotton, cereals and oil Seed
Company is expanding their vegetable seed business in India and
Asia. Vegetable Division of Rasi seeds will locate their main R
& D facilities at Bangalore, near Delhi and Kullu, Sales and
marketing in all potential areas of vegetable growing,
Operational centers in Bangalore and Gurgaon and Production
locations throughout India based on crop need and agro-climatic
zones. Vegetable division which is being managed by experience
seed professionals will provide unique opportunities to
experience professional from seed sector to enhance their
professional and financial growth.

following position.
Position: Senior breeders/Breeders (all vegetable crops)
(several positions)
Locations: Bangalore, around Delhi, Kullu
Purpose
Develop & implement
strategies for specific crop breeding. Meeting goals of the
company and to integrate diverse germplasm into commercially
viable breeding material. Develop the design and process of
optimizing efficiency in developing plant populations for
trait selection and adaptation.
Responsibilities
- Design breeding strategies
and activity planning, implementation and evaluation.
Develop and maintain a broad vision of the scientific
profession, company environment, and market demands and
translate market demands into breeding goals.
- Execute field, greenhouse
and laboratory techniques by working hands-on
- Supervising technical,
seasonal and/or contract laborers.
- Manage and coordinate
greenhouse operation and activities to facilitate crosses
between diverse breeding materials.
- Collect and summarize
data.
- Adhere to and maintain
breeding administration program.
- Organize research trials
and distribute trial seed samples according to program
activities.
- Coordinate breeding work
with, and implement information gained from the major
support programs, especially the pathology and molecular
marker groups.
- Carry out other activities
and responsibilities as directed.
Educational Qualifications
and experience
- M.Sc/Ph.D in Plant
breeding/genetics.
- 5-10 years experience in
breeding vegetable crops
- Knowledge of seed industry
and vegetable growing areas is must
Skills required
- Demonstrated experience in
plant breeding.
- Working knowledge of
horticultural practices and procedures, genetics and plant
breeding
- Computer literate
(database, spreadsheet, word processing)
- Language skills: English
required
- Must be able to
communicate effectively, exercise good judgment, and be
organized.
- Must be able to work
independently and must also be a team player.
