Sales Representative

Responsibilities:
The primary
responsibilities are in two areas: warehouse management and
managing dealer sales. You will be responsible for shipping,
receiving and inventory management in a small warehouse.
This part of the job requires organizational ability,
attention to detail, safety consciousness and experience or
the ability to learn safe forklift operation.
The second part of the job is to manage sales to assigned
dealers. This includes assisting dealers in annual and
quarterly orders, setting annual targets, monitoring dealer
performance/incentives and maintaining short and long term
sales forecasts.
Sales responsibility also includes gathering info on
changing market needs and communicating those needs to
Seminis product teams; working with Technology Development
and R&D to identify and commercialize new hybrids; promoting
the Seminis product line with dealers, growers, shippers and
processors; using technical knowledge and good interpersonal
skills to develop successful working relationships.
Ideal candidate will have
ag-related degree, at least three years of experience in
ag-business; seed, produce, processing or related field.
Aptitude for business and ag, coupled with strong interpersonal
skills and willingness to work hard is the winning combination.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong interpersonal and
communication skills
- Ability to develop strong,
successful business relationships with customers as well as
internal teammates
- Must be self-motivated,
with the ability to establish goals that align with Seminis
short and long term plans; allocate time and energy
appropriately resulting in achievement of goals
- Commitment to accuracy,
especially in regard to managing the warehouse seed
inventory, mistakes there can lead to significant liability
- Ability to drive 35,000 -
40,000 business miles per year in a company vehicle
Desired Experience/Education/Attributes:
- 3+ years of Ag-Business
experience
- Knowledge of SW US
vegetable markets: broccoli, lettuce, spinach and melon
