My experience in breeding of Corn and Rice has given me an
exposure to take up the challenge of meeting ever growing needs
of Indian farmers.
Career Objective:
To specialize in the field of agricultural research particularly

Work Experience:
• Since December 2006, working as
Corn Breeder in
Uniphos Seeds and Biogenetics (a unit of Advanta India Ltd.),
Hyderabad
Responsibilities:
Development and testing of hybrids for different market needs
Maintenance of inbreds, segregating lines and introduction
materials and also development of new inbreds
Planning and maintenance of crossing block and execution of
crossing plan as per the seed requirement for different stages
of testing.
Maintaining inventory of Parental lines, inbreds and hybrids
• August 2003 to December 2006, worked as Research
Officer in Corn Breeding in Monsanto India Limited, Bangalore.
Responsibilities:
Nursery Management:
Responsible for maintenance of inbreds, segregating lines and
introduction materials.
Assisting Research Manager in advancing lines.
Planting and management of isolation blocks
Planting and maintenance of crossing block and execution of
crossing plan as per the seed requirement.
Preparation of Trial kits for testing in various locations
Inventory Management of Nursery materials and hybrids
• December 1999 to August 2003, worked in Namdhari
Seeds Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore as a Rice Breeder and also worked as
a Breeder for the improvement of other crops like Beans (Yard
long beans, Cluster beans, French
beans, Dolichos beans)

for different climatic conditions.
Hybridization and Selection in other crops like Yard Long Bean,
Cluster beans, French beans and Dolichos beans
Evaluation of imported Sweetcorn hybrids / varieties
Achievements:
Development of iso-cytoplasmic restorers with earliness, yield
and good grain quality
Development of hybrids using CMS system and TGMS system of
hybrid rice breeding
Improvement of varieties with respect to yield, earliness and
quality in Yard Long Beans
Training programme attended:
A five day training programme on Hybrid Rice Technology
conducted by Directorate of Rice Research, Hyderabad
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office, Internet and Software used for Data Analysis
in Monsanto
