• Opened warehouse; was involved in crossing seed through
crossing agents in Nogales, Arizona.
• Trained new PDS and sales personnel in sales and
product-development strategies. Training included time and
territory management, FAB (features, advantages and
benefits) selling techniques, and how to handle price
objections and business warfare.
• Developed short- and long-term market plans.
1985-1992: Began new venture for Asgrow along the border in
Nogales, Ariz.
• In charge of separating vegetables sales from Agronomic
sales in Mexico.
• Developed the market for vegetable seed along the 12-mile
corridor from Rio Rico, Ariz. to Nogales by introducing
Asgrow’s new determinate tomato line, including products
such Sunny, Pacific and Humaya.
• Introduced Asgrow’s new hybrid bell pepper, Skipper.
• Inducted into the Upjohn Sales Academy three times; was

• Assigned to re-establish hybrid long-day onion sales in

1979-85: Seed Production Representative, Nampa, Idaho.
• Responsible for production of sweet corn and garden bean
seed.
• Developed the idea and trial work that led to the creation
of the Humidifier
for garden bean seed to raise the moisture level, thus
increasing seed germination and quality.
• Devised new methods of producing early-maturity sweet corn
that lowered production costs.
• Increased bean seed production for difficult-to-produce
varieties.
• Assisted with onion and pea seed production.
