Duties
• Seed analysis and certification of seed crops
(Maize,Soyabeans, Wheat, Sorghum, Barley, Groundnuts and
Common Beans) under the guidelines of the Government Seed
Services and ISTA regulations
• Carrying out field trials in plant breeding at Stapleford
Research Centre with more emphasis on maize and wheat.
• Inspection of seed production by contracted seed growers
in the Mashonaland region.
Other Attributes
• Profiency and experience in biometry and use of
statistical tools including Genstat, SAS, Agrobase, Eviews,
IRRISTAT and SPSS in designing experiments and data
analysis.
• Computer literate- Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and
statistical packages.
• Fluency in English, excellent written verbal and
interpersonal communication skills.
• Thrive well under pressure and meeting deadlines with
commitment to achieve.
• Holds a one year South African temporary residence and
work permit, expires on 17 April 2009.
