Akkadix Corporation / Akkadix Genetics, Inc.
Akkadix Corporation is utilizing expertise in molecular biology, functional genomics, biochemistry, plant biology and plant breeding to create new opportunities for the production of specialty and fine chemicals, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceutical intermediates in green plants.
Akkadix Corporation creates these new opportunities through the activation, modification, transfer or enhancement of biochemical pathways in plants. This "process engineering" of plants will provide novel chemistries and alternative "natural" manufacturing sources for high-value compounds as commercially more attractive alternatives to chemical synthesis and fermentation. Simply put, Akkadix Corporation will dramatically enhance the competitive position of its corporate collaborators through significant capital investment and production cost savings, the reduction of environmental risks and the generation of intellectual property.
Akkadix Genetics is a plant breeding company using a unique selection method coupled to traditional commercial breeding methodology to provide unique proprietary germplasm to the US corn seed industry through a marketing relationship with Seed Genetics Inc. as well as providing germplasm to
Akkadix for use as host plants for Green Biofactories.
