Danson Seed Company LLC announces the release of 5 new Extended Shelf Life determinate and
semi-determinate tomato varieties. Danson's tomato program has focused particular
attention on improving overall interior and exterior fruit quality, reducing cull rates,
and increasing size.
Determinate Variety
Danson 145 is a determinate variety with a concentrated set of large hard
fruit with tiny blossom scars and an excellent balance between sugar and acid. It was
designed for ground culture vine ripe production and responds very to staked culture. It
is 7-9 days later than Shady Lady, however it can be picked at 40-50% color for a much
larger distribution of sizes and has more commercial longevity at 5 color than Shady Lady
has at 2 color. It has a vigorous plant that provides excellent cover for either
ground or staked culture. It is a main to late season product with excellent resistance to
cracking.
