Very dark blue color. Excellent color.

Excellent turf performance especially during summers in New Jersey and North Carolina. Blackstone was the number one variety in the Pure Seed Testing, Inc. wear recovery trial. Also a top performing variety in low-mow trials, both NTEP and Pure Seed Testing. Top commercially available variety for spring green-up, with very good summer and fall performance.

Excellent performance in both the cool/arid and cool/humid sections of the country.

Very good resistance to melting out, leaf spot, dollar spot. Excellent resistance to powdery mildew and summer patch.

Good resistance to stripe smut, dollar spot, and stem rust.
