The USA is the most significant
and competitive flower seed market in the world. To succeed in
this market, flower seed breeders must offer superb genetics,
excellent seed quality, customer service and technical support.
The fulfillment of these factors can only be achieved through a
thorough understanding of the market place from breeder to
retail.
In order to increase its market
share in the USA, Floranova
has appointed Bill Wilson to the position of US Commercial and
Technical Director. Bill brings to the position considerable
knowledge and expertise in the US bedding and pot plant
industry. Graduating in 1993 from the Texas A&M with a Bachelor
of Science, Bill has had experience as a grower and as an
owner/operator of growing facilities. More recently, Bill has
been working at the breeder/wholesale level of the industry.
Bill has extensive local
knowledge of the US market, excellent product knowledge and
sound technical expertise. These skills will enable him to
create a strong US presence, supporting Floranova products
throughout the distribution chain. Bill's main responsibility
will be to build on Floranova's existing US business by focusing
on the company's mission to deliver outstanding customer
service. Bill will also manage the Floranova Spring Pack Trial,
to be held at a joint facility being developed by Oglevee and
Floranova at Lompoc, California.
