Western Australian growers invited to new Boronia launch, seminar

A new variety of Boronia will be launched at a seminar in Albany, Western Australia on Wednesday September 8, 2004.

Growers and others involved in the flower industry in the Great Southern region have been invited to the seminar, which has been organised by the Department of Agriculture.

Department of Agriculture extension officer Digby Growns said the seminar highlighted the Department’s commitment to working closer with the Great Southern flower industry.

“The release of the new variety will open up further market opportunities for growers,” Mr Growns said.

“The variety is suitable for growing in the South West and the Great Southern regions. The launch is part of the seminar, which focuses on several aspects of Boronia production, including general and post harvest management, pruning, disease management and economics of production.”

The launch will be held at the Department of Agriculture, Albany Hwy, Albany
