Oxnard, California
December 21, 2004

Bambino personal watermelons developed by Seminis Inc., the world's largest developer, producer and marketer of vegetable and fruit seeds, were named one of the "Most Amazing Inventions of 2004" by Time magazine. The seedless mini fruits weigh 4 to 6 pounds, about the size of a large cantaloupe. Bambino is the culmination of nearly ten years of traditional plant breeding and research.

"Bambino mini watermelons offer the convenience of serving just one or two people," said Dr. Bruno Ferrari, President and Chief Operating Officer of Seminis. "We developed Bambino for life on the go. It fits easily into your refrigerator or ice chest, and it is perfectly portable for family outings."

According to Time, Bambino "is not the hulking mass you've had to lug home from the grocery store for the family picnic." The magazine indicated that Seminis' mini watermelon is "sweeter than its larger cousin."

Seminis Inc. is the world's largest developer, producer and marketer of vegetable seeds.
