Germains Technology Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Butler as Horticultural Sales and Marketing Manager for its North American business with effect 2 February 2004.

Mark joined the Company in November 1995, having previously worked for Samuel Yates, Shell Research Ltd and East Malling Horticultural Research Institute in the UK.   His initial role was as UK Horticultural Products Coordinator, then later became UK Horticultural Products Manager.  Since the restructuring of Group Operations and Sales last year, Mark has been involved in a much wider European role.

Mark will relocate to Gilroy, California, and cover markets in North America and Mexico.  He will be tasked with developing and expanding the Group’s horticultural activities throughout North America and Mexico.

Commenting on the announcement, Mark Wilson, Commercial Director, said, “I am delighted to be able to make this appointment.  Mark Butler has already made an important contribution to the ongoing success of our UK operation and his knowledge of the horticultural sector and global seed industry will allow him to quickly establish himself in this new role.  He will work alongside our experienced team in Gilroy, California and join with the rest of our North American Sales Group in providing new contacts and expertise”.  Mark Wilson went on to say that “Demand for our custom coating services, priming products and organic range is strong and Mark Butler’s appointment will allow us to maintain and extend contact with our growing customer base, not only in California, but throughout North and Central America”.

Germain’s Technology Group, a member of Associated British Foods plc, provides seed enhancement and coating technology services from nine world locations.
