Consumer products specialist and turnaround expert named vice presidents at Kincannon & Reed, leading US executive search firm in food, agribusiness and life sciences

Kincannon & Reed, the leading executive recruiting firm in food, agribusiness and life sciences, has named J. Suzanne Cox and Gregory J. Duerksen as vice presidents.

An international marketing expert, Cox joined Kincannon & Reed in 2000, specializing in the consumer products sector. Earlier in her business career, she was for ten years a senior marketing executive and brand manager with L'Oreal, the French consumer products multi-national, in Madrid, Paris and Tokyo. On returning to the U.S., she led marketing and new product development for Prudential Resources Management, a global supplier of human resources services, then served as the first corporate vice president for marketing of the American National Red Cross, in Washington, D.C. Fluent in Spanish and French, Cox earned a B.A. in sociology and anthropology from Wellesley College, an M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in cultural anthropology, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

A turnaround expert who specializes in the agriculture and food sectors, Duerksen was a senior international executive prior to joining Kincannon & Reed in 2001. As chief executive officer, he led the successful restructuring of a Pepsi-Colaź bottling company and of Latin America's largest fertilizer producer and exporter, both in Mexico. Additionally, he was vice president of marketing and development for Terra Industries, a leading global manufacturer of nitrogen fertilizer products based and, at the time, a large distributor and retailer of seed and crop protection products. In his early career, he was a consultant for McKinsey & Company. He has testified before Congress regarding food safety issues, on behalf of the Chemical Producers & Distributors Association, and was an Associates Fellow writing case studies for the Harvard Business School's acclaimed Agribusiness program. Fluent in Spanish, he earned a B.A. degree from Augustana College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Kincannon & Reed, based in metropolitan Washington, D.C., was established in 1981 to recruit leaders for organizations that help to feed the people of the world and keep them healthy. The firm also has offices in Brussels, London and San Francisco.
