GROWMARK recently
introduced the release of three new NutriDense® corn hybrids,
according to Jim Happel, GROWMARK corn product manager. They
include FS 6514 ND, FS 6324ND, and FS 6914ND.
“NutriDense
technology offers value-added identity preserved grain that is
tailored to the farmers’ needs,” Happel says. “Livestock
producers can benefit from the higher crude protein, increased
concentrations of essential amino acids with excellent
digestibility, greater levels of key minerals as well as
elevated oil resulting in more energy content and better
palatability.”
FS 6514 ND, a 109-day hybrid, has excellent
emergence and seedling vigor, and staygreen characteristic,
along with medium ear placement with girthy ears. It has good
adaptation across the Corn Belt.
FS 6324 ND, a 111-day hybrid, is a medium season
hybrid with good northern and southern movement. It has good
adaptation east of U.S. Highway 51 in Illinois. It has good
stalk and root quality.
FS 6914 ND, a 114-day hybrid, is well adapted to
the Corn Belt and moves south well. It offers excellent
emergence and seedling vigor, and staygreen characteristic.
“These varieties offer excellent revenue
potential and consistency,” Happel says, “With the addition of
these three new hybrids, FS member cooperatives have 34 new corn
hybrids to meet producers’ needs.” |
