New Grain Corn Hybrids

A high-yielding Herculex I Insect Protection hybrid that features broad-spectrum protection from insect pests, 2H565 is also tolerant to LIBERTY herbicide. 2H565 has a 106-day relative maturity. It produces medium-length, very girthy ears which hold their size under stress. 2H565

offers excellent early vigor, staygreen and drought-stress tolerance. It is a tall hybrid with broad, very erect leaves and a robust plant type.

Good emergence and early vigor make 2D673 a strong choice for no-till and early planting. 2D673 is a Herculex® I Insect Protection hybrid that features broad-spectrum protection from insect pests and tolerance to LIBERTY® herbicide. 2D673 has a 109-day relative maturity, and offers an excellent agronomic package that includes very good stalk and root strength, with consistent yields.

A high-yielding Herculex I Insect Protection hybrid that features broad-spectrum protection from insect pests, 2P722 is also tolerant to LIBERTY herbicide. 2P722 has a 111-day relative maturity. It offers top-end yield potential under intensive management. 2P722 has excellent ear flex potential, making it a strong choice for planting across a wide range of populations.

2J774 is an attractive, medium-tall Herculex I Insect Protection hybrid that features broad-spectrum protection from insect pests and tolerance to LIBERTY herbicide. 2J774 has a 113-day relative maturity. It offers a strong agronomic package that includes excellent staygreen and drought tolerance, along with very good standability and gray leaf spot (GLS) tolerance. 2J774 produces consistent ears that show good flex for length and girth.

2R055 is a 78-day hybrid featuring Roundup® Ready technology. This hybrid combines very good early seedling vigor with solid plant agronomics. 2R055 sets up grain quickly in the fall and the grain dries fast, while maintaining excellent grain quality and test weight.

2A288 is an 89-day Roundup® Ready hybrid stacked with YieldGard® Corn Borer protection. It features good stress tolerance, very good grain quality and test weight, and excellent fall health. Moderately high plant populations will maximize the yield potential of this determinate ear type.

A medium-tall hybrid with a 98-day relative maturity, 2D460 also has a medium ear placement. 2D460 features Roundup Ready herbicide technology and excellent drought-stress tolerance. It has shown particularly strong performance in central and western growing areas.

2G830 is a conventional hybrid with a 116-day relative maturity that offers excellent east-to-west performance across full-season growing areas. Plants are medium-tall with medium-high ears that have very good husk coverage and grain quality. 2G830 has very good ear flex and adapts to a wide range of planting densities. It is tolerant to Fusarium ear rot and gray leaf spot.

“These new hybrids offer growers the latest in insect protection and herbicide resistance, as well as outstanding performance,” concludes Gardner.
