Soybean farmers throughout the United States continue to realize
additional profits by using soybean inoculants.
America’s Best
Inoculant, a soybean inoculant marketed by Advanced
Biological Marketing, showed a significant yield increase of 2.8
bushels per acre over the untreated soybeans. At $6.50 per
bushel, the income increased by $18.20 an acre using America’s
Best Inoculant. Based on the complete test results, inoculation
increased profit on average by $13.90 per acre. Therefore,
America’s Best Inoculant profit was $4.30 more than the average.
The test sites used were well drained, had good fertility, an
appropriate soil pH and the previous crop was either corn or
wheat. Typically, under such ideal conditions, inoculation would
not increase soybean yield. The fact that yields were increased,
indicates that even greater yield responses are likely where the
soil conditions and cultural practices are less ideal.
America’s Best Inoculant results can be attributed to a unique
blend of three highly effective proprietary strains of rhizobia
bacteria. It is adaptable to multiple soil types and conditions.
This formulation was developed by the foremost authority in the
world on rhizobia genetics. America’s Best Inoculant was
developed to be applied in conjunction with registered
insecticide and common fungicide products.
“The three unique strains of rhizobia used in
America’s Best Inoculant are adaptable in virtually all soil
conditions,” said Dan Custis, president of
Advanced Biological Marketing.
“We believe that inoculant usage is an absolutely necessary
element of soybean farming today, particularly when you factor
in the additional profit that can be earned by using America’s
Best Inoculant.”
Inoculation is the process of adding rhizobia bacteria to
soybean seed, starting a partnership between rhizobia bacteria
and the soybean plant. The rhizobia bacteria colonize on the
roots of a soybean plant in the form of nodules. In this form,
the rhizobia take nitrogen from the air and convert it into a
form that the soybean plant can use. This promotes healthier and
more vigorous growth, resulting in higher soybean yields.
