Bayer CropScience
LP and a subsidiary of
Makhteshim Agan
Industries have entered into a multi-year supply
agreement for tebuconazole fungicide for the U.S. market.
The agreement allows accelerated and comprehensive
registration of Orius(TM) brand tebuconazole by Makhteshim
Agan for all U.S. registered crops. Orius is the brand name
for tebuconazole marketed by Makhteshim Agan in many other
parts of the world. Bayer CropScience currently markets
Elite(TM) and Folicur® brands of tebuconazole in the United
States.
Tebuconazole is a
broad-spectrum fungicide that controls multiple diseases in
grapes, peanuts, stone fruit, and has section 18 uses in
cereals. When applied with proper application timing,
tebuconazole has also proven very effective at controlling
Asian soybean rust in South America. Select U.S. states have
received Section 18s from the U.S. EPA for the use of
tebuconazole for the control of Asian soybean rust in
soybeans.
