Makhteshim Agan of North America, Inc. announces tebuconazole agreement with Bayer CropScience

Bayer CropScience LP and a subsidiary of Makhteshim Agan Industries have entered into a multi-year supply agreement for tebuconazole fungicide for the U.S. market. The agreement allows accelerated and comprehensive registration of Orius(TM) brand tebuconazole by Makhteshim Agan for all U.S. registered crops. Orius is the brand name for tebuconazole marketed by Makhteshim Agan in many other parts of the world. Bayer CropScience currently markets Elite(TM) and Folicur® brands of tebuconazole in the United States.

Tebuconazole is a broad-spectrum fungicide that controls multiple diseases in grapes, peanuts, stone fruit, and has section 18 uses in cereals. When applied with proper application timing, tebuconazole has also proven very effective at controlling Asian soybean rust in South America. Select U.S. states have received Section 18s from the U.S. EPA for the use of tebuconazole for the control of Asian soybean rust in soybeans.
