Monsanto Company (NYSE: MON) announced today that at its
fifth annual meeting, shareowners elected three members of its
board of directors to new terms.
John W.
Bachmann, William U. Parfet, and George H. Poste, Ph.D., D.V.M.,
were elected to serve until the company's 2008 meeting.
Shareowners
also ratified the Board's Audit and Finance Committee's
appointment of Deloitte & Touche LLP as the company's principal
independent auditor, and approved the Monsanto Company 2005
Long-Term Incentive Plan.
Four separate
shareowner resolutions were also voted on at the meeting. In
each case, shareowners voted consistent with the recommendations
presented by Monsanto's board of directors, rejecting each of
the proposals.
