Building on a strong business in
the year 2004, Bayer
CropScience is aiming to further expand its position as one
of the world´s leading innovative crop science companies.
Speaking at a press conference in Warsaw, Prof. Dr. Friedrich
Berschauer, Chairman of the Board of Management of Bayer
CropScience, said that between 2001 and 2004, sales in the 10
new EU member states have more than tripled from about 50 to EUR
160 million. "We are optimistic that the further growth
perspectives for Bayer CropScience are very positive in the 10
new EU member states." The modernization of Poland's agriculture
would play a key role in this regard, Berschauer said.
In the first
quarter 2005, Europe continued to be the largest region for
Bayer CropScience with sales of EUR 775 million. Out of this,
about EUR 73 million were accounted for by the 10 new EU member
states. In the first quarter of 2005 sales there grew an
extraordinary 22 % versus the first quarter 2004.
For Bayer CropScience the country group comprising Poland and
the Baltics is the largest individual market among the new EU
member states. As Berschauer sees it further development of the
agricultural market in Poland and the other new EU member
countries is an opportunity for the farmers and also for the
industry. Bayer CropScience is the leading crop protection
company in the Polish Market on the basis of its close alignment
with customer and business requirements.
The Head of Bayer CropScience Poland and Baltics, Peter Eilers,
explained the importance of innovation as focal part of the
strategy: "Over the next three years we are planning to launch
on average 2 new products every year." Eilers highlighted that
Bayer CropScience Poland is starting a new product launch
program in 2005 drawing on the strong global R&D Pipeline of
Bayer CropScience. He added: "We expect that by 2010 our new
products and formulations will represent about 60 % of turnover
in Poland."
Eilers said that the goal of Bayer CropScience is to be regarded
as the reference company in innovative products, technology and
services. "We have a very good product pipeline and the company
is investing in innovative solutions for agriculture. Products
we are continuously launching in the Polish and Baltic markets
are modern solutions which help farmers to improve the
productivity and quality of their crops."

Ausgehend von
einem starken Geschäft im Jahr 2004 will Bayer CropScience seine
Position als eines der weltweit führenden innovativen
Crop-Science-Unternehmen weiter ausbauen. Auf einer
Pressekonferenz in Warschau erklärte Prof. Dr. Friedrich
Berschauer, Vorstandsvorsitzender der Bayer CropScience AG, dass
sich der Umsatz in den 10 neuen EU-Mitgliedstaaten von 2001 bis
2004 mehr als verdreifacht habe, und zwar von rund 50 Millionen
EUR auf 160 Millionen EUR. „Wir sind zuversichtlich, dass die
Wachstums-Perspektiven für Bayer CropScience in den 10 neuen
EU-Staaten positiv aussehen.“ Die Modernisierung der polnischen
Landwirtschaft spiele dabei eine zentrale Rolle, so Berschauer.
Europa war im ersten Quartal 2005 bei Bayer CropScience
weiterhin die stärkste Region mit einem Umsatz von 775 Millionen
EUR, wovon rund 73 Millionen EUR auf die 10 neuen
EU-Mitgliedstaaten entfielen. Im ersten Quartal 2005 wuchs der
Umsatz dort um beachtliche 22 % im Vergleich zum ersten Quartal
2004.
Für Bayer CropScience stellt die Ländergruppe Polen mit den
baltischen Staaten den größten Einzelmarkt unter den neuen
EU-Mitgliedstaaten dar. Berschauer sieht die Weiterentwicklung
des landwirtschaftlichen Marktes in Polen und den anderen neuen
EU-Mitgliedstaaten als Chance für die Landwirte und auch für die
Industrie. Bayer CropScience ist im polnischen Markt das
führende Pflanzenschutzunternehmen.
Der Leiter von Bayer CropScience der Ländergruppe Polen und
baltische Staaten, Peter Eilers, erläuterte die Bedeutung von
Innovation als Kernpunkt der Strategie: „Wir beabsichtigen, in
den kommenden drei Jahren durchschnittlich 2 neue Produkte
jährlich auf den Markt zu bringen.“ Eilers betonte, dass Bayer
CropScience Polen im Jahr 2005 ein neues
Produkteinführungsprogramm gestartet habe, das auf die
umfangreiche weltweite Forschungs- und Entwicklungs-Pipeline von
Bayer CropScience zurückgreife: „Wir erwarten, dass unsere neuen
Produkte und Formulierungen bis 2010 rund 60 % des Umsatzes in
Polen ausmachen werden.“
Für Bayer CropScience bestehe das Ziel darin, bei innovativen
Produkten, Technologien und Services als Referenzunternehmen
betrachtet zu werden, betonte Eilers: „Wir verfügen über eine
ausgezeichnete Produkt-Pipeline, und das Unternehmen investiert
in innovative Lösungen für die Landwirtschaft. Die Produkte, die
wir in Polen und den baltischen Staaten laufend auf den Markt
bringen, sind moderne Lösungen, mit deren Hilfe die Landwirte
die Produktivität und die Qualität ihrer Kulturen verbessern
können.“
