St. Francesville, Illinois
2005Continuing its
tradition of providing customers with industry leading products
and technologies,
AgriGold Hybrids
is pleased to announce the addition of AgriShield to its 2005
product lineup.
A proprietary fungicide blend,
AgriShield will be applied directly on the seed with all seed
applied insecticides, such as Poncho 250 and Poncho 1250. The
addition of AgriShield will provide unmatched protection from
such common perils as seedling blight and other soil borne
fungi. Initial studies have shown AgriGold seed planted with
AgriShield and Poncho brand insecticide achieved an average
stand increase of nearly 2,000 plants per acre, compared to
untreated hybrids at an initial planting population of 30,000
plants per acre.
“We’re very excited about the
addition of AgriShield to our already strong offering of seed
treatment options,” said Tim Griffith, Agronomy Manager for
AgriGold Hybrids. “Planting hybrids treated with AgriShield
technology is a profitable decision for growers looking to get
the most out of every corn acre.”
While beneficial in all
planting situations, AgriShield is especially valuable in cool,
wet conditions experienced by some growers eager to plant in the
early spring months. “Most growers lose more stand to fungal
activity than they typically realize,” said John Brien, Eastern
Regional Agronomist for AgriGold Hybrids. “Fungal activity is a
tough diagnosis, but with AgriShield growers can be confident
that their seed is protected, even in early planted situations.”
Founded in 1936, AgriGold Hybrids based in St. Francisville,
