Mycogen Seeds announces the
addition of four new soybean varieties to its lineup.
“We are
pleased to offer these new, outstanding varieties to growers,”
says Keith Porter, Marketing Specialist, Mycogen Seeds. “These
varieties match the needs of nearly every soil type and grower
goal.”
New Soybean Varieties
Featuring very
good tolerance to IDC, 5A009RR is a thin canopy variety
with excellent emergence. A top choice for no-till and
high-density solid seeding, this variety performs best in narrow
rows at higher plant populations.
A strong
companion to 5B008RR with a similar seed size, 5A009RR provides
excellent tolerance to white mold. Additionally, this is a lower
maturity variety that moves south well.
A medium
height, dark-green variety, 5B170RR has a medium-bushy
canopy and is a strong choice for wide rows or low-density solid
seeding. This variety has genetic resistance and excellent field
tolerance to Phytophthora root rot, making it a good choice for
poorly drained soils.
An excellent
performer from Michigan through South Dakota, 5B170RR provides
tolerance to areas with a history of white mold. Additionally,
this variety is coupled with resistance to brown stem rot and
has good IDC tolerance for fields with high pH.
A
high-yielding cyst resistance variety, 5N320RR replaces
5N327RR. This variety features a medium height and a bushy
canopy. It performs well in both narrow and wide rows, and
offers very good protection against Phytophthora and Sudden
Death Syndrome (SDS), making it a great choice for poorly
drained soils.
A top choice
for fields with high soybean cyst nematode populations, 5N320RR
performs the best in favorable, high-yield environments.
Additionally, it is an early maturing relative of the popular
5N351RR.
A tall cyst
nematode-resistant variety with a medium-bushy canopy,
5N441RR is a very high-yielding variety that performs best
in wide rows or low-density solid seeding. It also features very
good emergence that promotes uniform stands and has good
tolerance to SDS.
This variety
is a top choice for fields with high soybean cyst nematode
populations and provides very good tolerance to frogeye leaf
spot and stem canker.
“These new
soybean varieties provide the latest solutions to disease and
insect problems,” Porter concludes. “We are pleased to offer
growers such fine products for the 2007 growing season.”
