Philippine Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Plant Industry approves 3 new transformation events

USDA/FAS GAIN Report Number: RP6036

The Approval Registry for the Importation of Regulated Articles for Direct Use for Food, Feed and for Propagation now has 25 transformation events (TEs) with the August 9, 2006 approval of Monsanto's Alfalfa J101 and J63, and Pioneer’s Corn DAS 59122-7. The Philippine Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI) approved both TEs for food and/or feed use.

On August 9, the Philippine Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI) approved Monsanto’s Corn LY038 x Corn MON810 for direct use as food and/or feed, making it the 11th approved stacked trait product to date. A summary of the stacked trait approvals follows:
