Syngenta and DuPont today announced an agreement that will broaden each company’s crop protection product offer.

• Syngenta acquires an exclusive worldwide license to develop DuPont’s new insecticide Rynaxypyr™ in mixtures with its own leading insect control products. Rynaxypyr™ is a chemical of the bisamide class characterized by unique systemic properties and outstanding activity on all major lepidoptera pests. DuPont will continue its commercialization plan for straight Rynaxypyr™.
• DuPont Crop Protection acquires worldwide rights to Syngenta’s strobilurin fungicide picoxystrobin, sold as Acanto®, including access to companion products used in mixtures. Acanto® is currently marketed in Europe on cereals and will be expanded for use on soybeans in Latin America.

The transactions are subject to certain national regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Combinations of Rynaxypyr™ with our modern insecticides will provide new broadspectrum solutions in the global insecticide market estimated at around $7 billion. First launches are targeted for 2009. We shall continue to expand our industry-leading position in fungicides led by Amistar® and its range of combination products.”

Syngenta und DuPont tauschen Pflanzenschutz-Technologien aus

Syngenta und DuPont haben heute eine Vereinbarung zur Stärkung ihrer jeweiligen Produktpaletten im Bereich Pflanzenschutz bekannt gegeben.

• Syngenta erhält eine Exklusivlizenz zur Entwicklung und zum Einsatz des neuen Insektizids Rynaxypyr™ von DuPont in Mischungen mit führenden Insektiziden von Syngenta. Rynaxypyr™ gehört zur Chemikaliengruppe der Bisamide. Diese zeichnen sich durch einzigartige systemische Eigenschaften aus und wirken ausserordentlich gut gegen alle wichtigen Lepidoptera-Schädlinge. DuPont plant Rynaxypyr™ als Einzelprodukt zu vermarkten.
• DuPont Crop Protection erhält im Gegenzug weltweite Rechte an Syngentas Strobilurin-Fungizid Picoxystrobin, das unter dem Markennamen Acanto® vertrieben wird. Hierunter fällt auch der Zugang zu Begleitprodukten für Mischungen. Acanto® wird zurzeit im europäischen Getreideanbau eingesetzt und soll auch in Lateinamerika für Sojabohnen verwendet werden.

Diese Vereinbarung tritt nach den entsprechenden behördlichen Zustimmungen in Kraft. Finanzielle Einzelheiten wurden nicht bekannt gegeben.

Syngenta et DuPont annoncent un échange de technologies dans le domaine des phytosanitaires

Syngenta et DuPont ont annoncé aujourd’hui un accord destiné à élargir leurs gammes de produits phytosanitaires respectives.

• Syngenta obtient une licence exclusive et mondiale pour développer l’utilisation du nouvel insecticide de DuPont, Rynaxypyr™, en combinaison avec ses propres insecticides. Rynaxypyr™ appartient à la classe des bisamides, qui se caractérise par des propriétés systémiques uniques et un contrôle extrêmement efficace des principaux lépidoptères ravageurs. DuPont poursuivra son programme de commercialisation de Rynaxypyr™en application monoproduit.
• DuPont Crop Protection obtient des droits mondiaux relatifs à la picoxystrobine, un fongicide de Syngenta appartenant à la famille des strobilurines et commercialisé sous la marque Acanto®. Ces droits incluent les produits d’accompagnement pour les mélanges. Acanto® est actuellement utilisé en Europe sur les céréales et son usage sera étendu au traitement du soja en Amérique latine.

Les accords entreront en vigueur dès l’obtention des autorisations de rigueur. Les détails financiers n’ont pas été divulgués.
