Becker Underwood, Inc.,
a leading manufacturer of bio-agronomic and specialty colorant
products, announces the purchase of rhizobium inoculant
producer, Urbana Laboratories; seed coating company,
Seedbiotics; and the Sepiret range of seed coating products from
the French-based specialty chemical producer, Seppic. Terms of
the acquisitions were not announced.
Both companies compliment existing Becker Underwood core
products and will continue to add momentum in specific markets
for Becker Underwood customers. Urbana Laboratories, based in
St. Joseph, Mo., produces nitrogen-fixing rhizobium inoculants
for legume crops. Seedbiotics coating and polymer plant in
Caldwell, Idaho is strategically positioned for the alfalfa,
clover and grass seed industries. The Sepiret line of seed
products was introduced to the European market in 1995. Along
with the Sepiret range of products, Becker Underwood will retain
key Seppic sales and technical staff, dedicated to the Sepiret
business.
These acquisitions continue Becker Underwood’s plan for
strategic growth through acquisition and product development.

producer, MicroBio in 2000, Becker Underwood has successfully
