Israeli seeds in Morocco
Gedera, Israel
October 30, 2005

The Zeraim Gedera Company has signed a series of agreements for the sale of seeds valued at $1.2 million, to agricultural crop growing companies in Morocco and will supply cherry tomato and red pepper (sweet blocky pepper) seeds for greenhouse crops.

Amnon Eshet, the Export Manager at Zeraim Gedera said that Morocco grows vegetables in the area around Agadir in southern Morocco and most of the fresh produce goes for export to the UK, France and Italy.

According to Mr. Eshet, the Company is making considerable efforts to develop the market in Morocco, which is considered a major supplier of fresh produce to Western European markets.

Given that Zeraim Gedera has such a strong presence in Spain, where it operates an advanced R&D facility in Spain, and the similar growing conditions in Morocco, the Company believes that it can do well in the Moroccan market and within two years, can reach sales of up to $3-4 million in that country.
