Bayer CropScience introduces TRILEX AL seed-applied fungicide for soybeans in the U.S.

TRILEX AL helps growers control seedborne fungi, soilborne pathogens

Bayer CropScience announced today the introduction of TRILEX™ AL Seed-Applied Fungicide for soybeans.

TRILEX AL offers a broad spectrum of disease protection, including protecting soybean seeds and seedlings against seedborne fungi that may cause seed decay.  It also protects soybeans against Rhizoctonia and Pythium spp., which are soilborne pathogens that cause seed and seedling damping-off.

“We think all soybean acres can benefit from a seed-applied fungicide package treatment,” said Paul Holliday, Bayer CropScience U.S. Business Operations Product Manager. “As cultural practices of growing soybeans have changed, more acres of soybeans are being treated with fungicides every year to protect the valuable seed. This new generation product is a result of the continued dedication of Bayer CropScience to being a partner for growth; we’re excited to offer growers a new fungicide package with TRILEX AL.”

As demonstrated in on-farm trials, growers may receive a positive return on investment when planting treated soybean seed.  A series of field trials shows TRILEX AL-treated seed outyielded untreated acres by as much as 19 percent.

Additionally, 15 trials with 180 replications conducted over four years showed that seed treated with a fungicide and GAUCHO® Seed-Applied Insecticide outyielded untreated acres, as well as acres treated with a fungicide and Cruiser® Insecticide.  Soybeans treated with a fungicide and GAUCHO yielded 48.67 bu/A, while untreated soybeans yielded 45.86 bu/A.

TRILEX AL is a strobilurin fungicide formulated with metalaxyl.  It is a ready-to-use (RTU) formulation making it easy to apply, providing excellent coverage and seed appearance.  The application rate is 5.7 fl oz/100 lbs of seed.  A concentrated formulation, TRILEX FL, also is labeled for use on soybean seeds.  For more information on the availability and use of TRILEX AL or TRILEX FL, please contact your local Bayer CropScience sales representative by visiting www.BayerCropscienceUS.com and clicking on Sales Rep Locator or call 1-866-992-2937.

TRILEX AL and TRILEX FL are not labeled for management of Asian soybean rust.
