DuPont Crop Protection and Dow AgroSciences LLC today announced the two companies have reached an agreement under which Dow AgroSciences will supply DuPont with acetochlor and acetochlor plus atrazine premix herbicides for preemergence use in corn. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Acetochlor is a soil-applied corn herbicide used for dependable, consistent control of a wide spectrum of grasses and broadleaf weeds, including foxtails, barnyardgrass, crabgrass, waterhemp, lambsquarters, pigweeds and nightshade.

Pending regulatory approvals, DuPont Crop Protection will offer acetochlor products for field use in 2007 under the brand name DuPont™ Breakfree™ herbicide. This agreement gives growers more opportunities to access products containing acetochlor through both Dow AgroSciences and DuPont.
