Reduced re-entry period for BASF's Headline gives seed corn growers new tool

.

Research Triangle Park, North Carolina
April 5, 2007

Seed corn producers can now get the superior disease control of Headline fungicide with a shorter re-entry interval. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced the approval today of a new corn label for Headline. This new label reduces the re-entry period to 12 hours from the previous 7-day period.

“This revised label is important because it allows seed corn producers to get the unmatched control of key diseases with the application flexibility through the stressful detasseling process that is so critical to seed corn production,” said Gary Fellows, Technical Marketing Manager at BASF.

The broad-spectrum disease control offered by Headline provides leading control of the key diseases that reduce seed quality and harvestability and affect seed production, such as common and Southern corn rust, gray leaf spot, Northern leaf blight and anthracnose.

“By controlling disease with Headline, growers get the Plant Health™ advantages that help boost the amount and quality of sellable seed per acre,” said Fellows.

With this supplemental label, seed corn growers have the opportunity to benefit from improved yield of sellable seed corn per acre and more quality seed per acre with better size and uniformity. Increased Plant Health also helps maximize growth efficiency and boost stress tolerance.
