BASF Professional Turf & Ornamentals appoints Steve Larson national ornamentals account manager

BASF Professional Turf & Ornamentals has appointed Steve Larson national ornamentals account manager. Larson will provide technical and sales assistance to BASF’s sales force as well as training and support to authorized ornamentals distributors and growers.

“Steve’s comprehensive experience in the turf and ornamental industry includes expertise gained from working on many sides of the business,” said Dr. Toni Bucci, BASF Professional Turf and Ornamentals business manager.
“His broad ornamentals knowledge and excellent management skills make him an ideal fit for this position.”

Larson’s appointment coincides with BASF’s formal entry into the U.S.
commercial ornamentals market. Building on its chemical innovations labeled for golf, lawn care, sod and sports turf markets, BASF now provides commercial ornamentals growers leading fungicide, herbicide and insecticide solutions to help them be more competitive.

Larson earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University (West Lafayette, Ind.) with a major in horticulture. Since earning his Masters of Science in horticulture from Purdue he has held positions with Hines Nurseries, The Brookwood Community, and Native Plants, Inc. before filling management and marketing positions with The Scotts Company and Whitmire Micro-Gen Research Laboratories, Inc. Larson joined BASF in 2001 and served as senior sales specialist for the Turf and Ornamentals Specialty Product Division until his current appointment.
