RIN 2070-AD49
Exemption Under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and
Rodenticide Act for Certain Plant-Incorporated Protectants
Derived From Plant Viral Coat Protein Gene(s) (PVCP-PIPs);
Supplemental Proposal
AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
ACTION: Proposed rule.
SUMMARY: EPA is proposing to exempt from Federal Insecticide,
Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) requirements
plant-incorporated protectants derived from plant viral coat
protein genes (PVCP-PIPs) when the PVCP-PIP meets specified
criteria. EPA is proposing this exemption because the Agency
believes that the PVCP-PIPs covered by this exemption would be
of a character which is unnecessary to be subject to FIFRA in
order to carry out the purposes of the Act.
DATES: Comments must be received on or before July 17, 2007.
