.

Ottawa, Canada

Bi-weekly Bulletin November 2, 2007 Volume 20 Number 19

Despite its name, buckwheat is technically a fruit or a nut rather than a cereal grain. It is a tasty, quick cooking, easy to prepare and nutritious food. Although production in Canada has fallen to a low level, it is expected to increase over the longer term with the development of new varieties and increased consumption in Canada and the United States (US). This issue of the Bi-weekly Bulletin examines the situation and outlook for buckwheat.

Canada is a small producer of fababeans, but the crop is an important source of income and crop
diversification for some producers. This issue of the Bi weekly Bulletin examines the situation and
outlook for fababeans.
