Jim Hoyt has been named vice
president of strategic planning and corporate services for
GROWMARK, Inc. He replaces Vern McGinnis who retired after 42
years of service to the GROWMARK System.
Hoyt is responsible for providing overall direction for the
GROWMARK strategic planning process and for supervising and
providing leadership to the directors of Human Resources,
Corporate Communications & Marketing Services, Government
Affairs, the Flight Operations manager, and an executive
assistant.
In making the announcement, GROWMARK CEO Bill Davisson said,
"Jim’s abilities and experience in the GROWMARK System enable
him to bring a unique perspective to the responsibilities of his
new position."
Hoyt’s service with the GROWMARK System spans more than 35
years. He has held a variety of marketing and member services
management positions, most recently as the Northern Region
manager working with GROWMARK members in Wisconsin and northern
Illinois.
Previously, Hoyt served as GROWMARK's executive director of
Canadian Operations. During that time, he was elected by the
Canadian Co-operative Association’s Ontario Region members to
serve as their chair, and later became an executive member of
the national association, encouraging international and domestic
co-operative development. He also completed four volunteer
assignments in Eastern Europe with ACDI/VOCA, and traveled to
Uganda with the Canadian Co-operative Development Foundation.
Hoyt is a native of La Porte City, Iowa, and as a student was
state president of the Iowa FFA. He graduated with a bachelor's
degree in marketing.
He began his professional career with a GROWMARK member in Iowa.
During his time in Iowa, he also served as the school board
chairman of Dowling High School.
Hoyt, and his wife Pat live in Bloomington, Ill. They have three
grown children who live in the Des Moines area.
