Bayer CropScience
has started launching fluopicolide, one of the newest products
in the company’s fungicides portfolio, in further major European
markets. Infinito® was recently given regulatory approval in
Poland and Germany, enabling the product registration to be used
in Austria as well. Last year the local Bayer CropScience
organizations in China, Korea and the United Kingdom
successfully positioned the product in their markets. The
company expects Infinito® to be registered in further major
markets worldwide during 2007 and 2008.
Infinito® - a combination of the new active ingredient
fluopicolide and the established compound propamocarb - is a
potato fungicide which provides reliable protection against late
blight (Phytophthora infestans).
Fluopicolide’s novel and unique mechanism of action leads to
rapid destabilization of fungal cell structures. Infinito®
provides particularly long-lasting protection for the plant, and
its efficacy remains constant under all weather conditions. The
product has a favorable residue and ecological profile, enabling
it to meet the high standards required by the food chain, and
provides a particularly high level of protection against
infections of the tuber. Infinito® reliably protects the entire
potato plant against damage during all critical growth phases.
The success story of fluopicolide impressively illustrates the
high level of innovativeness at Bayer CropScience. The company
successfully launched 17 new active ingredients between 2000 and
2006. A further nine active substances are scheduled for
introduction between 2007 and 2011. This will enable the
proportion of the company’s portfolio which is accounted for by
new compounds to be increased further. In total, Bayer
CropScience believes that potential sales for its 26 new active
substances could amount to approximately EUR 2 billion annually.

Registrierung des Produktes auch in Österreich übernommen
werden. Im vergangenen Jahr konnten die jeweiligen
Landes-organisationen von Bayer CropScience in China, Korea und
Großbritannien das Produkt erfolgreich im Markt positionieren.
Für 2007 und 2008 erwartet das Unternehmen Zulassungen von
Infinito® in weiteren bedeutenden Märkten weltweit.
Das Kartoffelfungizid Infinito® - eine
Kombination des neuen Wirkstoffs Fluopicolide mit dem bewährten
Propamocarb - bietet zuverlässigen Schutz gegen die Kraut- und
Knollenfäule (Phytophthora infestans). Der neuartige und
einzigartige Wirkmechanismus von Fluopicolide bewirkt eine
schnelle Destabilisierung der Struktur von Pilzzellen. Infinito®
zeichnet sich durch einen besonders lang anhaltenden Schutz der
Pflanze aus und hat unter allen Witterungsbedingungen eine
gleich bleibend hohe Wirkung. Neben einem günstigen Rückstands-
und Umweltprofil, womit die hohen Qualitätsanforderungen der
Lebensmittelkette erfüllt werden können, zeichnet sich das
Produkt durch den besonderen Schutz der Knolle vor Infektionen
aus. Infinito® hält die gesamte Kartoffelpflanze in allen
kritischen Wachstumsphasen zuverlässig schadfrei.
Die Erfolgsgeschichte des Wirkstoffs
Fluopicolide belegt eindrucksvoll die hohe Innovationskraft von
Bayer CropScience. In den Jahren 2000 bis 2006 konnte das
Unternehmen 17 neue Substanzen erfolgreich einführen. Für die
Jahre 2007 bis 2011 plant Bayer CropScience die Einführung
weiterer 9 Wirkstoffe. Der Anteil neuer Wirkstoffe am Portfolio
kann so weiter ausgebaut werden. Insgesamt sieht Bayer
CropScience ein jährliches Umsatzpotenzial für diese 26 neuen
Wirkstoffe von zirka 2 Milliarden Euro. |
