announce that it has purchased
Power Seeds and Hardware Ltd.
(“Powers”) form Origin Enterprises plc. This acquisition helps
Goldcrop consolidate its position as a leading agricultural
wholesale company in the Irish market.
Powers is a company with long-standing and proud tradition in
the Irish agricultural wholesale market and Goldcrop are keen to
ensure that this tradition is upheld and developed further.
Through the acquisition of Powers, Goldcrop will add to the
scope and quality of its agricultural seeds portfolio and other
crop inputs. In addition Goldcrop will gain a strategic
foot-hold in the agricultural hardware and plastics markets.
Goldcrop’s ultimate goal will be to successfully integrate the
best of both businesses with a view to achieving increased
competitiveness necessary to meet the challenges facing Irish
agriculture today and into the future. Irish agriculture is
going through many changes, the pace of which is increasing
every day. World factors are becoming increasingly more
relevant and as an industry we need to be ready to ensure that
our customers have competitive access to the most up-to-date
products.
