Mycogen Seeds is pleased to announce the introduction of 27 new grain corn hybrids to its lineup. Especially noteworthy are several stacked-trait hybrids containing HERCULEX® XTRA Insect Protection, LibertyLink® and Roundup Ready® technologies.

“We have a full lineup of corn hybrids with powerful traits to protect growers’ yield all season long,” says Dave Schumacher, Marketing Specialist, Mycogen Seeds. “These hybrids are proven to perform through extensive company and on-farm testing.”

New grain corn hybrids

Featuring high test weight, strong standability and excellent ear retention, 2K150 offers an early maturity of 82 days. This new hybrid, designed for Northern grain production, has a semi-flex ear type that helps adjust to variable soil conditions and management practices.

Stacked with HERCULEX I Insect Protection and LibertyLink technologies, 2G436 is a 96-day hybrid promoting a strong agronomic package with very good ear flex and ear retention.

2P535 is a Quad-Stack™ hybrid that features HERCULEX XTRA Insect Protection for powerful above- and below-ground insect protection, in addition to Roundup Ready and LibertyLink technology for expanded herbicide management options. This 103-day hybrid offers strong emergence, very good drought tolerance and competitive yields in addition to providing western Corn Belt growers good tolerance to Goss’s wilt.

Combining the herbicide-tolerant technologies of Roundup Ready and LibertyLink with the unmatched insect protection of HERCULEX XTRA, 2R693 is a 109-day hybrid with a superior agronomic package. It has strong stalks, excellent staygreen and very good gray leaf spot tolerance. 2R693 has shown very strong yield performance in the eastern Corn Belt.

Showing strong east-to-west adaptation, 2M695 is a tall, high-yielding Quad-Stack hybrid with very good stalks, staygreen, gray leaf spot tolerance and fall intactness. This 110-day hybrid can be considered as a replacement for 2G689 in the east and 2E764 in the west.

2M750, the Quad-Stack version of the popular 2M746 hybrid, has excellent agronomic qualities including standability, drought-stress tolerance, staygreen and ear retention, all which give it wide adaptability. Yield stability over the years and environments are a major benefit to this hybrid. 2M750 performs best at medium to full season maturities.

Widely adapted to the central Corn Belt, 2T789 has outstanding yield potential from its long, girthy ears, plus moderate gray leaf spot tolerance. This 114-day hybrid adds below ground protection from HERCULEX XTRA Insect Protection and combines Roundup Ready with LibertyLink technology to the popular 2T780 hybrid.

2W814, a 115-day hybrid, is a medium-tall hybrid featuring excellent standability, fall staygreen and gray leaf spot tolerance. This hybrid will be a slightly later-maturing companion hybrid to the 2T780 family.

“These new grain corn hybrids feature elite genetics so growers get top-performing hybrids, excellent standability and, ultimately, higher yields,” Schumacher says.
