Joerg Ellmanns to head up Bayer CropScience Australia

The Bayer CropScience Board of Management in Monheim, Germany today announced the appointment of Joerg Ellmanns to the position of Managing Director at Bayer CropScience in Australia effective from 1 January, 2008.

Mr Ellmanns and his family are making the move to Australia from Europe where he headed up Business Development, Animal Health at Bayer HealthCare AG in Leverkusen, Germany and was a member of the Global Animal Health Management Committee.

I'm looking forward to extending this connection and my own experience in this area." Said Mr Ellmanns.

Born in 1964, in Burscheid, Germany, Mr Ellmanns began a training course at Bayer AG in 1987 where he earned a degree in business administration with state certification. After successfully completing this course in 1990, he transferred to the Veterinary Business Group in Monheim, Germany and was appointed Business Manager for the Middle East.

Between 1993 and 1995, he completed an overseas assignment as ectoparasiticides Product Manager for the livestock portfolio of Bayer’s South African subsidiary. On his return to the Bayer headquarters, he performed various functions in the product management section of the Companion Animals Business Unit.

In 2000 Mr Ellmanns transferred to Brussels where he headed the Animal Health Business Group in the Benelux countries. Upon his return to Germany, at the end of 2003, he assumed responsibility for Strategy and Business Development in the Companion Animals Department and since August 2004 as Head of Business Development Animal Health and member of the global Management Committee.
