Hoopman e&e b.v. Rotary Coater/Dryer installed at Nickerson Zwaan Holland in Made

During the first few months of this year Hoopman equipment & engineering b.v. together with the Nickerson-Zwaan Seed Coating Team commissioned the newly acquired Rotary Coater/Dryer in the Made facility.

The new Rotary Coater/Dryer is a unique development catering for the increasing need for higher loading of pesticide/polymer formulations on seed.

Ben van der Steen of Nickerson Zwaan b.v.; “ It was a challenge for us to decide for a newly developed system, but we have been very pleased with the input and persistence of the Hoopman team to get it right. The new coater/dryer gives us the capacity we needed to cater our increasing demand. The system is highly automated and efficient and can operate with very limited operator input. What is also important these days is health and safety. In this respect the new system is extremely quiet, particularly considering we are talking about a high speed air drying system”.

Jan Willem Hoopman of Hoopman equipment & engineering b.v.; “With many years of seed coating experience we early recognised the drying bottleneck of many high speed rotary coating systems. We are very pleased to get our development work now confirmed by this first commercial user. We congratulate Nickerson-Zwaan with this fine piece of equipment. We also have experienced the cooperation with the Nickerson-Zwaan team as highly efficient and very pleasant.”

Nickerson-Zwaan b.v. is a worldwide operating specialised organisation dedicated to the research, production, processing and marketing of high performing vegetable seed varieties. Since 1990, Nickerson-Zwaan is part of the French Limagrain Group, the fourth largest organisation in the world dedicated to the supply of seeds and seed products. Recently the Advanta onion activities have been integrated in the Nickerson Zwaan responsibilities.

Hoopman equipment & engineering b.v. is specialised in innovative seed coating systems and highly efficient and accurate cleaning and calibrating equipment. Hoopman equipment & engineering b.v. is part of the Hoopman Machines Group and has been founded as a separate entity after the takeover of the Franken Agri & Seed business in 2005.
