S&G issues the 8th edition of S&G Peppers Today, the newsletter for the world of peppers

The multinational company Syngenta has issued the 8th edition of S&G Peppers Today through S&G, its horticultural seed brand for vegetables in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. S&G Peppers Today is a communication tool specifically centred around the world of peppers, and it has been developed for all S&G clients in the business chain, with information on production, processing and trading.

The 8th edition of S&G Peppers Today focuses on:

  • Integrated Crop Management in Almerķa: Mr. Jose Martinez Portero, president of Coexphal, talks about the challenges the pepper industry in Almerķa has had to face during the most recent campaign. Plus, this year results of the German laboratory that initially reported levels of an unauthorized insecticide in sweet peppers from Spain (Dec 2006), announcing this year that none of the peppers tested exceeded maximum residue levels (MRL).
  • Morocco growing success in pepper crops: Interview with Mr. Samir Tazi, vice president of APEFEL, about the success and challenges of pepper crops in Morocco, where the surface areas of pepper have almost tripled in the last three years. 
  • Fresh Cut and Consumption trends: Mr. Graham Alexander, an expert on the fresh-cut industry who joined FTNON just over a year ago, provides an overview of fruit and vegetable consumption trends in the fresh food sector and explains what the consumer values most.
  • Evolution of Turkish pepper exports (2005-2007): Consult the data compiled by the Turkish Mediterranean Exporter Unions.
